Pac 10 and BYU

Pac-none (my wife's name for them) has been a common opponent for us recently. Lets see.



UCLA 3 times 2-1 best home game for me in 4 years OOC.

USC 2 in last decade.

OSU 3 times in 4 years.

Oregon once, and they pray that's it.

Washington 2 times-would've been 4 but they are scared.

Arizona 3 times in past 5 years.

Almost Arizona State, played them a decade ago, as well as Cal in '99, '01

Stanford in 03-04.

Washington State-nod, since ages ago.



Okay, we've been pretty active against them, which makes perfect sense. Our record is only going to get better. How often has Utah played against the Pac-10 in the recent past? And when they do have they been mixing it up like we have? I can recall them playing awful Arizona teams, and barely getting by Oregon. I loved watching them play against OSU while their jersey's were falling off in 07. Well if BYU can pull out 1 or 2 BcS games...not even have to win, in 2014 BYU will be joining them or the Big 12. Not to start that discussion up again, I'm just watching the Oklahoma game and am thinking this game shouldn't even have been as close as it was. BYU owned it right from the start...I think based on preparation.



BYU did a great job last year in preseason preparation and post-season preparation. I say get rid of the spring game and use practice to prep for Washington. Whatever you did in 09 Bronco, repeat it. The bowl game was the same thing, we made a quick adjustment and never looked back.



BYU can play with any of them, and the next few years development of our talent should surpass that thought with big wins ie-at FSU at TCU at OSU at Texas.

Something tells me BYU's record isn't that much better. I remember our horrid Crowton era that was flat out... HORRID! We frickin' lost to a terrible Stanford team in '04.

2000-2010 is not at all representative of BYU Football in general and, hopefully, is not indicative of what to expect from BYU football in the next 10 years. The Crowton years followed by the Mendenhall rebuilding years will likely be followed by another several years of the Mendenhall era (where the program really becomes Bronco's own) followed by a *gentle* transition to Bronco's chosen heir as President Mendenhall heads to the mission field (or Alpine).

You're right on, I'd just quibble with the term "Mendenhall rebuilding years". The first year was rebuilding at 6-6, the subsequent years were pedal to the metal at 11-2, 11-2, 10-3, 11-2.

49-15 That seems like an ok record for "rebuilding." Now that the program is at an acceptable level (and is rebuilt) we can look forward to the next few years of 13-0, 13-0, 13-0 and 13-0. :munch: :munch: :munch: :munch: :P
