And then the "good" year for home conference games with TCU and Utah.

So do we fill that last game spot with a Tulane-ish program or someone like Weber St? Oh wait, Utah already has Weber locked up I'm sure. Please no FCS.

Looks like a bad non-conference home slate that year to go with the good conference games.

it seems like someone on this board (and sorry I can't remember who) was always saying that Holmoe had never signed a BCS conference school to play in Provo; perhaps we've heard the end of that statement?

I guess we're not tired of beating pac-10 teams yet.

Did he not schedule Boston College, UCLA, FSU, U-dub and Arizona? That may have been the previous AD. Anyways, OSU is a good matchup, at least 1-1, but the game there could be one of those head scratching games wondering what happened-for either side.





I like it more than playing at Northwestern (sorry Bronco)

Considering Bronco and his wife are very close friends with the Beavers head coach Mike Riley and his wife... I'm sure they worked it out.

Wrong Oregon-based school dude. The beavs are legit.

I love this match-up. OSU is consistently good and will give us a high quality game without us having pull a major upset to get a quality OOC road win. Especially if OSU beats USC later in the year (assuming Kiffin hasn't completely destroyed USC's relevance by 2011)

I have been saying that Holmoe hasn't scheduled a BCS game in Provo since becoming AD. Now all I have to say is good job. Although I would have preferred to have seen OSU coming to Provo first so there would be no chance of them backing out of their return trip. However, looking at OSU's schedule in 2011 they already have two road games against Wisconsin and Hawaii so I guess they didn't want 3 out of 4 occ games to be on the road.



Now Holmoe needs to work on getting the return trip to Provo scheduled with Texas. I predict we will see them come to Provo after 2015.

Good job. Now go add some games with Big 12 teams, Big 10 teams, and Big East teams.

I'm excited Tom has gotten a BCS team to P-town! Honestly agreed with some of these guys when it was starting to look almost like an impossible feet for good ol' Tom. Now I'm hungry for more, but to your point yeah it's a mid-level but beating them still means respect somehow; so I'm good with it. Also playing Texas in the same year, this could get tough, but it makes me even more excited to see especially after Heaps has a year under his belt as started ;)

I believe that this is NOT a mid level pac-10 team; I believe that this is one of their top 3 teams

Yeah, not really sure where people get "mid-level Pac-10" team. They've been the third place team each of the last four years and don't look to be letting up any time soon.

I'd really love to get a series with CU to round out the schedule in 2011. It would be another "BCS" team but one that's not that difficult to beat. We need another home game. Bronco has just helped out Hawkins. He owes us. Plus, I doubt their fans would "expect" a win over BYU in 2011 but as they continue to improve they could really get excited about the possibility of beating a national power in Boulder in 2012.

People call Oregon State a mid-level Pac 10 team because, until last year, any team not called USC was, at best, of mid-level pac10 team quality and, at worst, either UW or WSU.

at Oregon State in 2011 will be much more managable when the Rodgers brothers leave for the NFL before then.



Jaquizz will be a junior after next season (a sr in 2011 if he stays) while James will be a senior this season and gone before we play them.



of course they won't have to deal with Harvey either, so it might be a wash

BUT they will have to deal with Jake Heaps, Josh Quezada, and Co.

I'm not sure how that matters. We're not talking about the strength of the conference in comparison with say the Big Ten or SEC. We're talking about the strength of the teams within that conference. And as the third place team in the Pac-10 for each of the last 4 years, that puts them in the upper tier of the conference no matter what people think of the conference as a whole. Besides, OSU has finished the year ranked each of those years and has a fairly good record in their non-conf against other BCS teams so it would be tough to make the argument no matter how you slice it that this is not a good contract for the Cougars. But the bottom line is that with the difficulty quality non-AQ teams have in getting a series with quality BCS teams to bump up their SOS, we should be happy with any BCS team we can get inked that has a winning record.
