BYUâs Jimmer Fredette: A scoring point who draws fouls, has size and extends defenses to 30 feet. (If not Fredette, then perhaps New Mexicoâs Dairese Gary, for his toughness and penetration ability.)
New Mexicoâs Darington Hobson: Does everything, but I want him on this team for his ballhandling and passing.
Stanfordâs Landry Fields: Can score from the low post or the perimeter and is a ferocious rebounder ⦠and unselfish. (Thought long and hard about Calâs Theo Robertson for this spot because of his defense, scoring versatility and overall shrewdness.)
Washingtonâs Quincy Pondexter: Can create his own offense and, like Fields, poses matchup problems â too quick for 4s, too big for 3s. And I love having the option to invert the offense and use both players in the low post.
St. Maryâs Omar Samhan: Heâs playing very well right now, obviously, and would give this quintet a true post player â heâd be more valuable for his defense and rebounding than for his scoring
