WTF???

Why in the hell-o is Dan Hawkins(Colorado's head coach) watching BYU's practice on Monday???



It only mentioned one sentence but didn't emphasize on it. WTF?!?!?!?!

His team sucks, we're not playing them. Who cares? Our coaches go out and observe other programs and teams practices.

Happens all of the time during the Spring. Coaching is a fraternity and all of the coaches like to share philosophies, especially with teams that have success. It's been mentioned in the past that BYU has had an abnormal number of visiting coaches simply because they are intrigued at how successful BYU has been with shorter practices, no work on Sundays, and coaches generally leaving at 6pm.



You won't see it in the Fall though while teams are putting plays together etc.

Makes sense! I do know there have been articles Bronco's about coaching philosphy on ESPN and the sorts... I still don't think outisde coaches should come IMO.



If Dan Hawkins sucks... That's his problem. He's the one that started his son at QB and not the better one.

I'm still hoping we can get a home and home out of this. Bronco helps Hawk save his job, Hawk throws Holmoe and Bronco a bone and schedules a series with them. It would be a nice regional showdown and could really turn into a nice little off-and-on series. Plus it gives each a chance to beef up their non-conf (at this point it would do more for the buffs but we should be willing to take any BCS team we can get our hands on right now) without having to travel cross-country. Hawk could even give the Bronco the first home game, which we need to balance out the game at Texas, but wouldn't be expected to win at LES, while still getting more time to build his team for a chance to knock off the nationally ranked Cougs in Boulder in 2012. I hope you're paying attention Hawk. It's not a bad proposition here if I do say so myself.

Then Colorado could insist that BYU join them in the Pac 12.



This sort of thing happens all the time in big business. My company's CEO, for example, invited Steve Ballmer over to observe our development and marketing approach. Hey we have agreements with them, so MS isn't really a competitor, right?

Friends my arse Hawkins was throwing bombs w/ 3 minutes and BSU up 50-12 at LES. He is bombastic and an incompetent. His only smart thing he's ever done was hire Chris Peterson as his OC

Got it. I wonder if Hawkins regrets leaving Boise seeing the success Peterson has had at Boise while he's languishing at the bottom of the Big 12.

I'll stick my neck out for Hawkins. I was in HS in Boise when he was coaching BSU, and at least in dealing with fans/community/etc. he was all class act. A kid in my ward held his Eagle Court of Honor in our stake center and Hawkins was the main speaker, and was extremely approachable both before and after the ceremony. (Granted, he went on to recruit the kid. ;) But the same kid played under Hawkins at CU and left the program with a high opinion of Hawkins.) It was too bad when he left BSU, but hey, blessing in disguise.



The whole "starting his son" thing was lame, though. Still, I hope he has success in the next few years.

I hope they join the Pac-0 so they can raise the quality and competition of football. :D

Is Hawkins LDS? Or just doing some recruiting business for that kid?

Lame... Why is that??? I have a few friends who are Colorado fans who were extremely upset with that situation. They felt Hawkins should've let the other QB play instead of his son.
