I am calling it now, Jimmer will come back!

because he shot so bad from the field, and had so many turn overs, it showed prevent the crossover and Jimmer has hard time, he will come back next year, learn some new tricks, and hopefully he will go back to GF NY, and play some more Prison ball, also him and Emery and Loyd will WIN the MWC Champs.

I like that Rose yanked them a bit early....let the hurt fester to provide motivation all the way until next april.

This is the good kind of hurtin'. BYU played 10 horrendous minutes of basketball that cost them glory. Instead of letting them fight to the end and flee to the lockers at the horn, Rose planted them on the bench to let it sink in. A good call in my book to build for next year. Next year we won't be satisfied with an exit the first weekend.

LMJ was a team captain, and is a SR, but I agree with the rest, let this make them suffer, and come back with hellfire, and want to beat everyone, side note, did Emery look sad or what :~( (Emery is my fav player)

Disagree. Every team gave him as much hell as they could manage already this year, and he was still top 5 in scoring in the nation.



What he saw in this game is EXACTLY how he would stack up against NBA size and speed guards. He needs an upgrade in defense and speed (not quickness, mind, I can't remember how many times I've heard the media talk about him having the ball "on a string"), and he knows it. He's been mature enough to go out and get tools to make his game better over the last two offseasons. Here's to hoping he'll do it again.

Normally i would agree, but the MWC loves to protect their superstars and in my opinion Jimmer will be the biggest star the MWC has EVER had coming into the pre-season. There was no national hype surrounding any player. Not JR Giddens, not Brandon Heath, not Andrew Bogut, not Rafa Araujo. No on has gotten the pub that Jimmer has.



He's a household name and that might be enough to overcome the BYU bias. I think Jimmer could become even more prodigious in drawing fouls and getting to the foul line. If opposing guards think they'll be able to play Jimmer tough in conf play they may quickly find themselves in foul trouble.

My wife's little brother is in Jimmer's religion class at BYU. The BYU-Florida game was on during class time, so the teacher aired the game during class in support of Jimmer as a classmate.



The next week, the teacher had Jimmer do a Q & A with students in the class. Obviously, he got asked whether he was going to be back for next season. Jimmer said he fully expects to be back, and that he is putting his name in the draft only so he can work with NBA scouts and trainers pre-draft and get some feedback from them on what he can do to improve his game for the NBA. But he expects to be back next year.

Saw this quote from Rose. Glad he sees what we see, particularly the part about recognizing double teams and passing it off.

"I think I would really like him to play at a faster pace at times as we race the ball up the floor. But the pace that he plays at is what makes him really good. Perhaps the biggest opportunity for an improvement in Jimmer's game is an off-season to get his full health back. You could see the impact the double-overtime had on him. He tried but didn't have the energy to go in game 2. I for one am really looking forward to next year - for the whole team.

I think a lot on this board "called it" while he was still in high school and before this board was even created. :)

And Oh, great prophet who foretold Jimmer's return, where do you think Jimmer will be drafted? Will he break Ainge's scoring record?

Jimmer will be a lottery pick. And yes he will break Ainge's scoring record.



I think his game will translate to the NBA because Jimmer can make shots. I think his defense will improve at least from the standpoint of not needing to avoid fouling to stay on the court. Let's say Jimmer went to a team like Minnesota where a shooter would fit in well with inside guys like Kevin Love. Or if we went to a team like the Suns or Knicks or even the Heat where all he would have to do is make shots.
