Video for Lunardi's BYU Elite Eight Prediction

Hey, somebody else on here actually mentioned this already, so credit to them, but I figured I'd put the video up for everyone to see if they want.

I just don't see it, but maybe he's right. Aside from UNM at home (I'm still reeling from that) we didn't lose a game that wasn't on an opponents home court that didnt' ravenously want to beat us, and wasn't very familiar with our team; while when we played a team that had a lot of talent and didn't respect us, we won (utep, asu, arizona, etc.)



I just want a win over florida to get the monkey off our backs, anything more would be a dream. (I think Kstate is more equipped to rebound a day after than we our for the saturday game)

Yeah I have a bit of trouble seeing it too, but this is some pretty good reasoning I suppose from an article I saw on the news section of this site



Much of the reason for people picking BYU as a potential Cinderella has to do with their ridiculously high Pomeroy ranking, which has proven to be a great predictor of future success in the NCAA tournament.



Last year the Pomeroy rankings accurately predicted 13 of the teams that made the Sweet 16, six of the Elite Eight, two of the Final Four, and one of the two teams in the championship game.



Most notably, they predicted that North Carolina would win the championship game after ranking the Tar Heels No. 1 heading into the NCAA tournament. North Carolina was third in the RPI.



Anyone who has filled out a bracket knows that is an incredible success rate.



BYU comes into the tournament ranked seventh in the Pomeroy efficiency ratings.



Only Syracuse has a better Pomeroy rating in the West region. BYU can't even meet them until the Elite Eight. BYU's strength, outside shooting, and offensive efficiency match up well against Syracuse's 2-3 zone.
