I think that the Committee basically seeded BYU a 5, and then lined them up with a 12. There's been a lot of speculation that how the Florida team ended up a 10 seed. I think it's because the committee had to move BYU back a couple of seeds for either a region issue, or a Sunday-play issue, and so to help make up for that underseeding of BYU, they overseeded Florida.



Really, this looks more like a 5-12 match-up than a 7-10.



But of course, we're now stuck playing the 2 seed in the 2nd round instead of the 4 seed..but then again, we avoid the 1 seed until the elite 8.



And I'd rather play Florida than UTEP (again) or Cornell or Siena or even Utah State.



In fact, It'll feel great to mop the floor with the Gators.

I was the same way. I was expecting it, but still disappointed that BYU didn't get a better seed. BUT!!! the committee was kind to BYU, they gave them a very winnable first round (like you pointed out it's more of a 5 vs. 12 scenario) and then the committee said, if you want to play in SLC all you have to do is beat KSU. Formidable, but not unbeatable. BYU just needs to prove that they are as good as must of us hope they can be. They could go VERY deep if they play up to their potential.

Looking at this closer, I'd rather have this matchup than any of the 11 seeds, and 3 of the 4 12 seeds. No first-round complaints right now...
