what is BYU's seed going to be?

Just for fun, where is the committee going to put BYU tomorrow?

8. We deserve a 6, but we'll get the 2 less than we normally deserve. Oh and we'll play less than 100 miles from our opponent's home court.

As of an hour ago, Lunardi believes we're a 5 based on the strength of this conference. I'd happily take that. I'd rather invent a time machine and go back and beat UNM at our house... everything would have fallen in line for a 2-3 after that; alas we're going to have to earn the coveted W.



I don't see how with all the lumber falling in the top 25 and BYU with a 15 national ranking, that they can do the math and give us a 7+. Now I wouldnt' put it past them (past history suggest we'll be sh*t on), but if the MWC is good enough to get 4 teams, then the top of the conf deserves a little respect.



I'd absolutely love to play one of the 2 Pac 1o teams that got in (UW or Cal)

we would destroy Washington... it'd be a great lead-in to the BYU-Washington football game later this year...

I am praying that BYU DOESN"T get a 5 seed, that would almost guarantee another one and done in the tourney, it seems that every year there is always at least one 5-12 upset and usually more so if it meant BYU taking a 6 seed to avoid that situation I would be all for that.

The +2 rule says we'll be an 8, but we have a better record than usual at this time of year and we've been ranked most of the season, so I'll say they honor us with a 7. (Only +1 this time, baby!)

i think we will be getting a 6 seed today. On a side note iam from ILL, i dont see how you can leave them out.

I think they deserve a 4 seed, but pragmatically, they should get a 5 seed. Add the +2 rule and that gives them a 7 seed.



They will aTm in Dallas (or whereever the first round games are being played in Texas. ;)



And yes, the MWC is stong this year and has earned 4 bids.

There is no way Illinois deserves to be in with 14 losses, they had a good run in the Big 10 tourny but 14 losses? thats ridiculous.

We'd be lucky with a 7. An 8 seed would be a disaster, even if we winthat game, it'll be over next round

Illinois got some good quality wins, mich st, wis (twice once on the road) vandy. The big ten is a good conf. Iam a little bias i know, i think they should get in. What i hope for more is that our Cougars can get a great seed i hope a 5 seed. What do you guys think about expanding the tourney?

So, this year, unlike any previous year, we have a marquee player. Someone that people know about and have interest in. That will give us a better than expected seed.



Best path to something special is San Jose to Salt Lake, any seed 4-6. The home crowd would help in the sweet 16 round (if we get that far).



Also, if it is an 8 seed, so what? You have to beat the best teams anyway to have a good run.

i hope BYU gets put into the west bracket. They would be great to see them play in salt lake city.

And that's beating a 1 seed in the second round???? Your logic is a little off buddy... A 8 seed would be very, very BAD...

Actually, buddy, if you want to win the whole tournament, or if you want to be thought of as a really good team, you eventually have to beat really good teams, even a 1 seed.

Cougs deserve a 5 seed, with the BYU Bump (+2) we will get a 7 seed.
