Anyone now want to take the side of Miles, in Miles VS Davies ?

It depends on what you need. I'll take Miles playing 1 vs 1 defense against any big man in the country. If I need offensive output, I'll def go with Davies.

I also agree but it doesn't work like that, obviously, if you had to choose one to be in the game for whatever reason for overall performance I go with Davies, hands down and have since early on. I mean yeah Miles is the better defender, and I don't know the numbers off the top of my head, but I doubt he's a way better one, and typically we getter more offensive production out of Davies so there's my reasoning.

In my book to be a good Def player, you MUST block out, and go after Rebs, miles does not do that day in, and day out.

Once Davies finally finds his way into the weight room, he is going to be a real beast. Young kid, I know, but needs to develop that upper body more. All the great ones do it.

I must have missed the first go-around of this conversation.

I do recall people throwing Miles under the bus which I believe is stupid cause for one, the guy is playing as hard as anyone out there and he simply isn't going to meet everyone's expectations and secondly, he is a cougar and I'm not about to start being hypercritical of anyone playing in blue. Thirdly, it's a team game and I don't think you could pin any of BYU's losses on one player and feel certain about your logic.

Last night Davies was awesome. I'm hoping he's got a lot of those types of performances in his tank. Especially vs the U. :munch:

It really depends on who you're playing. You have to think that on a normal night we've got so many weapons already (Jimmer, JT, Haws, Loyd, Emery) and if we're playing a team with a big, dominant post guy, then I'd rather have Miles muscle him out and play great D on him and depend on our smalls to get points. Every game is a question of matchups and that's what makes it so nice to have a dominant big man on D and another on O.

The conversation last year was "Miles is as good as Plaisted, or better. We won't miss Trent at all". Which I argued against, while just about the entire rest of the board argued for (save for Gunk, I think). Fans are silly.

Miles plays his role well enough right now, and that role isn't scoring and it isn't rebounding. Davies will be a better player at both of those, but with poor defense and frequent fouling he cannot fill Miles' role currently.
