BYU-PAC 10 expansion chatter

Boiling it all down - it's all about "money!!" Enough money & everything is for sale - in the PAC-10.

This is the best article on expansion I have read. It is right on the money. My question though is with his analysis, how can he still agree with his thought that colorado utah is a better fit? Seems that if there was a chance of colorado and one of us, byu would bring more dollars.



The first article I have read that actually makes logical sense. Its all about the money. the the commissh was hired to find ways to make more money. thats it.

I thought the part about teams not wanting BYU's 25 year old's playing their 18 year old's to be pretty humorous. So much ignorance to that idea... If missions were truly an advantage nowadays then mormon recruits would be encouraged, (when on other teams than byu) to serve. I know for a fact you hurt a lot more after workouts at this age than you do right out of high school

If Utah does leave for the PAC-10 and BYU doesn't leave, it'll be interesting to see how the move affects Utah's LDS recruiting. NOt so much in football but in the other sports. Right now Utah coaches tell LDS athletes they can get the same experience at Utah that they can at BYU because of the LDS culture that permeates the state and university. But if the Utes move to the PAC-10 Sunday play is now not only an option but an expectation. If you don't want to go to BYU but also don't want to play on Sunday then Utah is no longer an option and perhaps BYU is now back in the picutre.
