CB is Horrible

Forgive me, CourgarCorner, I strayed and found myself enticed by the mass of BYU fans on Cougar Board.



I thought maybe I could adjust to their weird, 2001-style forum style. Worse, I thought I would find civil discourse.

I wish I knew a better way to entice more intelligent, polite, thoughtful BYU fans here to CougarCorner to discuss things. But I just can't seem to find a way to do it. The CB crowd wants to be abrasive, and that's not the type I want here so those that find their way over quickly leave. But there's no denying this place has been a ghost town lately.

The name calling, the belittling, and the patronizing gets old very quickly. No amount of information and virtual friendships is worth the crap.

I have been here. I check it daily. Just busy and we are in the slow season now.

It is the slow portion of the year.



But maybe we should start a program where each of go find two friends and we refer them to you to explain the benefits of joining CougarCorner so they see they can be better, happier fans. Everyone wants to be happier fans.

Hawkwing, I like and appreciate Cougar Corner and thank you for it. I've seen some disagreement but not name calling. Let us not give up on your very good sight. I'll keep coming here. I'll go see if there is something on track and field.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm not planning on shutting anything down right now, it costs me about 3 times as much to host this as I make in ad revenue, but unless I lose my job I'll keep it going.

What is the best thing we can do to help the site's ad revenue?

You do an fantastic job. How much does the site cost you each year?



Also, folks…more people is more traffic, which advertisers like, meaning more revenue. Let’s get some eyeballs on this place so Hawkwing doesn’t have to skimp on the Christmas presents for his kids.

Does Hawkwing have the emails of all of the members? Maybe at start of the football season invite everyone to come on the site for a reunion or something.

Absolutely - the best way to support the site is through getting more eyeballs to view the ads. If you see something you ever want to buy, search for it, then come back to CougarCorner and see if there's an ad for it, if you go through that then that helps too!

Hawk, thank you for keeping this site going. I check in daily, but don't comment often as there really isn't much discussion going on. I love to read the Best Cougar Sports Tweets. At one time, this was a lively place with great discussion without tons of negativity. Now I get that all sport's fanbases tend to be negative in general, but CB takes this to an entirely different level. Anyways, thanks again for providing this forum for us Cougar fans.

I too don't comment much. I try to get the scoops posted. I am working two full time jobs and I am about to be retrenched at the community college after 29 years. I might be retiring very soon. Making a last push to increase my pension. Maybe I will have more time to get involved.



My biggest interest is recruiting news and the sports program in general.
