NFL Combine News???

Hey all. I live in the stone age with no cell phone and no cable (don't worry, it's self-imposed so I can't really complain). I was just wondering if anyone had any updates about our local boys in the combine? How are they faring?

They're just doing measurements today.



Hall is as tall as colt mccoy - 6'1'', but weighs less.



they and Skinner from wake forest are the shortest ones at the combine.

Interesting about Max's & Colt's similar size. You can definitely see that Colt has more muscle mass - all

that Texas beef!! Ha-ha!!

You forgot Armenti Edwards who's 5'11" but yeah, they are the shorter bunch at the combine.



But while height is one of the most coveted attributes NFL execs want in their QB, there has been plenty of evidence to show that it is not necessary for success. Here's a link talking about Hall and how he's been training with his uncle getting ready for the draft. http://startelegramsports.typepad.com/cowboys/ He is quoted as saying that "The best thing that happened to me this year was Drew Brees."



The article got one thing wrong though. Way wrong. ---> "Hall broke the BYU record for passing yards, which was set by former Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer, with 11,365 yards in his three-year college career." Uh, yeah Ty still had just a few more yards than Max. Like 3,666 more yards. Mad did break John Beck's MWC record for most yards and jumped to second place on BYU's all-time list but came nowhere near Detmer's mark.

I HOPE Max goes to the Az Cardinals. They have great receivers & like to throw. I would love to see Max put Leinart on the bench. I've always thought Leinart was over rated - a product of a good team & system - but individually - not as sensational as advertised.

This is why Pitta will get drafted and Harline didn't. If he is puttin gup good number like that then GMs will go back and look at his film. Harline put up poor numbers. He didn't give GMs a reason to go and look at his film.

I agree, the commentators are making a big point of expressing just how versatile Pitta is, saying that although he's not a natural blocker, he does it well enough, knows how to use his body to get in the way, but he really understands the game of football, and all the angles, better than any other guy in the draft. And he probably has the best hands (of the TEs and the Receivers) in the draft this year. Several of the commentators said he was their #1 guy.



He also ran a 4.63 unofficial in the 40 yard dash, that was good for top 5 in his group, at least by my counting.

Pitta just ran his Gauntlet drill, which was called 'ridiculous' and a 'freakish display of athleticism' he is doing quite well.

Not a great time for a WR, but he is doing alright. 8)



Pretty good time for a TE. Perhaps he'll do okay too. :love:

Odd. I read an article about UNLV's WR Wolfe talking about how he expects to run faster than Collie's 4.63 last year...

If you watched the combine, the clock read 4.55 after his run, which is what the commentators talked about, but in some transcription error the Combine website reported him at 4.63.

Oh no, he's too *cough*white*cough* unathletic and *cough*white*cough* slow to play in the NFL, his *cough*whiteness*cough* speed will be a real issue for any GM... :roll:
