BYU leapfrogs UNM in Power Rankings

BYU moves up from 14 to 10 and NM moves from 13 to 12. It's nice to get a little respect on ESPN once in awhile . . . now lets prove in on the court Saturday. Go Cougs :evil:



Oh, and BTW, why so much love for THE Ohio State University and Georgetown? Sure they have big wins, but come on guys, you've lost 7 games apiece. ?Ranked 8 & 9? Georgetown has lost 5 of their last 11 games. I guess losing to Syracuse is better than beating someone else. And the Big 10 is not any better than the MWC this year IMO (except for maybe Purdue, but with them losing Robbie Hummel for the season they may drop off quite a bit). The top 4 in the Big 10 (Purdue 24-3, Ohio State 22-7, Michigan state 21-7 and Wisconsin 21-7). Purdue is likely better than BYU and UNM by a little, but BYU and UNM are better than Ohio State and definitely better than michigan state and Wisconsin. I think UNLV and SDSU could give Michigan state and Wisconsin a run for their money as well. The bottom 1/2 of the Big 10 is crappy.

I will agree with you about Georgetown being completely overrated. They are a first round upset waiting to happen.



Living in Ohio, I've seen quite a few OSU games, and while the team isn't as complete as BYU, they would have the best player on the court (can't say that much when Jimmer is out there) in Evan Turner. Most of their losses happened when Turner was out with an injury. They split with Purdue (each winning on the road), and won at Mich St.

Every team has to deal with injuries, it's not fair to consider certain injuries when voting for rankings and ignoring others. If you have seven losses you should not be ahead of BYU right now.
