In order for the Pac 10 (or MWC) to get better exposure and/or revenue from new TV deals they need to be able to get better TV windows for their games. The problem is that its a zero sum game. This analysis takes a look at what is available and which contracts could be poached. The options are not great...

And although this looks primarily at the Pac 10 options, since that is rather immediate, these would be the same options facing the MWC.

You put a lot of good work into this article, but my question is, if the conference starts PACtv like they are looking into, what does it matter who ESPN is showing when? I think they are just going to follow the Big Ten's model exactly, and bundle with the Big XII and/or ACC if they can't get enough distribution and/or money initially.

Drives me nuts when BYU games are on the Mtn and they are showing re-runs of 30 year old boxing matches or rodeos on VS.

The Pac-10 wants to start it's own network. I don't think they even care about the ESPN deal much anymore. Plus they have many games broadcast on Fox Sports regional channels. USC is good for a handful of ESPN games too. It'll work out with or without ESPN.
