PAC12 football players demand 50/50 revenue split

How about a 50/50 split of net profit after ALL expenses are paid including their education (that's why they are really in school, right?) and the education of all other student athletes on campus. X number of years of insurance after graduation for a dangerous contact sport is fine by me. But a line needs to be drawn at some point between professional players and amateur college players.



I am sick of the NBA/NFL using college as a free testing ground for players. I am sick of "student-athletes" who have no desire to be a student.



If you are 18/19/20 and have a great business idea you can drop out of college and start your own business and earn money. There should be ZERO restrictions on 18 year-old adults (these are not "kids" as the media loves to call them) on going pro.



You want to get paid for your athletic talent? Drop the student-athlete moniker. Drop your valuable scholarship. And try out for a professional team. Let those who truly are using their scholarship to earn a free education stay.



How about out of high school the player decides to either go pro or him/her and the school sign a contract that says the player has a guarenteed scholarship for 4 years and that he/she will not go pro. If either breaks the contract then there has to be compensation.

Much easier to take a hard stance like this when the odds are that you aren't going to play football this Fall anyway....
