While reading one of the football threads I started wondering what percentage of people meet their spouse while attending BYU.

*I realize that this study may be skewed as people who have a lot of time on their hands to hang out on sports forumns may not have their marriage priorities in line with the general mormon population . . . but lets see anyway.

I was on the 5 year plan at BYU and still didn't get married while there. Got a masters from :utard:  (don't usually admit that) but got out of there in only 1 year (wonder what the difference was in academics). Then I finally met my wife during a fellowship in Washington DC. She used to say she wished she would have met me at the Y, but after 4 years of medical school and then residency she now says she wishes we would have met after all that was over. I think she's kidding, but I can't be sure :skeptic:

I'm doing my undergrad at UVU (yes, the program I'm doing is actually better there) and did get married while still in school, so does that count as 1/2 or something?

I got married while attending BYU, but my wife wasn't a student at BYU, she was here from California to attend UVU though, that surely is a halfsey.

I met my wife in a BYU ward, but I wasn't going to BYU yet (she talked me into it after we were married).

I am fullblooded. We both were at the Y. She played high school softball so I made sure she played on the ward intermural team.

Met my wife outside a grocery store in Chapel Hill on New Year's Day in 1994. She was driving back to the Y from VA after Christmas break and I needed a ride. A mutual friend set it all up. By Denver I knew that she liked me a lot, even though she was waiting for a missionary. Once we got back to Provo we realized that we lived in the same building in the same apartment complex but never ran into each other because we were in different wards. I asked her out 3 weeks later, proposed 4 months later and married 9 her months later.

Waiting for a missionary, pppfffftttt!! I know that once in a blue moon it actually works out, but I'd need a lot of extra fingers and toes to count all the girls I kissed who were "waiting for a missionary."

I feel you, homes. I had a few comps who were obsessed with girlfriends who wrote them 2-3 times a week. I enjoyed mocking them.

Oh man, the worst were the guys that missed out on 2 weeks to 2 months of their missionary experience because some girl thousands of miles away decided that maybe she could be compatible with someone else. So sad. My advice to future missionaries: DUMP YOUR GIRLFRIEND!!!

Don't waste your money on somebody else's wife.

Not only did I meet my wife at BYU, I met her my freshman year. Amazingly enough, my mission went great whether she wrote to me or not, and as it turned out, I didn't waste a cent on anyone else's wife. :P

I met my wife at BYU as well my freshman year and married her 6 years later. We never planned on it working out so I actually told her not to write me on my mission. 6 years later, it worked out.
