Its a good thing. Stories about guys coming in as walk-ons and earning scholarships is great for the program and shows recruits that their work will be rewarded should it merit that. Probably also ensures he doesn't transfer away thinking he won't get a fair shot at playing time against the scholarship athletes.

Good for him. The best QB on the roster really should be on scholarship.

He is a better use of a scholarship than any high school recruit in the nation. He has earned it. That is good news he was given it.

Problem though is how do you function with 5 QBs on scholarship? Hurts you somewhere if someone doesn't transfer.
