Doing better than I expected, but UCLA's top guy is just heating up.



Lee is holding his own. Once he's out the offense is pretty much stuck at the arc. Can't get the ball into the paint with Lee on the bench.



Harding is having a game so far too.

We won!!! Wow!



TJ came alive in the 2nd and Toolson stopped playing iso ball. Great game down the stretch.



Unsung heroes, Nixon and Seljaas. Those guys hustled. Got boards and bodied up against UCLA.



We play Kansas tomorrow. I hope we make it competitive.



Two more games and we get Childs back.

Unbelievable. I didn't see this coming. Dang those two close losses to SDSU and BSU.



I received a sign that BYU had won. I know this is crazy and I don't honestly believe it, but I went to bed last night knowing we were up by 4 at the half. My phone alarm was set for 6 a.m. to get up and go to work. Super, super oddly, it went off at 4:15. It's NEVER done that and it showed on the face that it was set to go off at 6. Weird, weird, weird!



So awake, I checked how the score went and was shocked to see that BYU had won by 78-63. So awake and excited, I watched the game before I came into work. Now I'm sure I'll get real tired by late afternoon, but what better reason to feel tired than watching BYU beat UCLA in Maui.



Walton is a hoot and he is enamored with BYU/Danny Ainge et al. He's just so off the wall. I don't know anyone like him who is allowed to call games, but we usually get him for a couple of games a year and he seems to know everyone.



Dang, if we can shoot that well in most games and then add Yoeli, we're going to be a force to be reckoned with.

I saw someone over at CB say that since we won this game we'll get 2 more. We would have gotten 2 more if we lost. The number of games don't change, just the foe. All teams that play in the tournament in Maui are assured 3 games.



Winning the 1st game now gives us Kansas. Even if we lose that game, we'll still get a formidable foe in the loser of the Dayton/VA Tech game.



I think we could have taken this tournament with Yoeli, but it's always great to beat a PAC12 team no matter who it is.

As of this morning, Kansas has a Kenpom rating of #8.



Virginia Tech is a #29 vs Dayton #37



BYU is #68



UCLA dropped to #115. Just for reference, Houston #36, SDSU #67, Boise #114.

Just playing those teams is a boost to our ranking.



If we can pull off one more win at this tournament that would be huge.

What the poster at CB was saying was that we get 2 more quality opponents. UCLA gets to play Chaminade next.

OK, that we get two more quality opponents, not an additional game. I got excited for a moment and went and checked the bracket, because if we could get an additional game, then Yoeli would be back one game sooner in the season, but yes, they meant to note that we will receive 2 quality opponents, meaning we don't have to play Chaminade.

I went to bed with BYU leading 55 to 52. It had been a tough, hard fought game up to that point. I was hoping that the Cougars could stay hot from the 3 point line and pull out the win. It seems like after I went to bed the magic really started though and the Cougars really pulled away from the Bruins. You really love to see it.

I would have loved to see Childs back for Montana Tech to give the team one game to develop some sort of chemistry before playing the pukes, but how the pukes have been playing the last few games BYU should dispose of them very well.



At least they will have a few games under their belt when they play USU.



Looking at BYU's schedule, they don't leave the state the entire month of December. Who do they think they are an SEC football team?
