Our espn contract

This is an honest question. How do you guys think our current level of play is going to affect our contract renewal with ESPN. It seems to me that our product can't be worth as much now as it was when we first went independent. Could ESPN force a coaching change by telling BYU that the product Kalani is putting on the field is going to affect our financial agreement?

This is the only real chance of a change.



The bottomline and exposure of BYU needs to be adversely affected before a change will happen.



The problem with BYU and Holmoe are they won't make a change to prevent the drop in revenue and exposure. The drop, and it has to be significant enough, has to happen first. They have to find themselves in a crisis and then they will react. BYU has a very reactionary culture. Not a proactive culture.

Expect to see a lot more games on ESPN+.

I hear that the negotiations have hit a snag over ESPN+ inventory. ESPN is really pushing this and we usually have 2 or 3 games each year that seem to fit nicely - like Liberty and Idaho State. But, BYU would prefer this inventory for BYUtv rather than ESPN+. Might we see a deal that puts those types of games on both?

Why does everyone want to try to make BYU fans make crappy TV stations work? I didn't buy ESPN +. I only have the stupid $57 a month YouTube TV to watch the other 11 games. I was glad I took that week off lol.



I took a quick look at Reddit CFB. BYU is getting called the Pitt of the West by a few different guys on there lol. “They’ll beat you if they want to” a BSU fan said before the game lol.



Not a horrible year to increase interest in late Saturday night games.

One problem with them being on both is BYUtv is free. You can down load the free byu app and watch. Where ESPN+ you have to pay for. So why would espn bother showing a game on both platforms when one is a pay platform and the other is free? There is no financial win for espn in that situation. If anything they would lose money.
