Well, we've definitely can't complain this season that we haven't had the stage for these games to let the nation see the Cougar brand. I know this isn't all about BYU and has a huge bit to do about USC and them being a Top 25 team, but it's great to see us in this limelight.

Assuming we win or are at least competitive.



Anyway, it looks like USC opened up as a 4 point favorite.

1. Don’t kick the ball to Velus Jones Jr



2. USC puts up big passing numbers with the Air Raid, but they can still run the rock



3. USC has some athletes on defense



4. USC’s defense can be beat with discipline, execution



5. Tackling will be priority #1 for the BYU secondary

Yup, and #4 makes me think of how the offense will assert itself, or not, or who knows? I think we will sputter early and often. It feels like the offense will take its d**n sweet time to get moving, given what we have seen so far. I think our run game bails out a poor pass performance against this USC defense. Those guys are legit.



Will we have the discipline and execution on offense? I give it a 60% chance we pull this one off. Pretty sure their defense will completely shut down the offense, but how often? We will have sporadic breakthroughs on offense to the level needed against USC. The consistency of execution here will be the question of the day for me.

#4 is why I believe we are going to get demolished in this game. This BYU team does nothing with execution and discipline.

This BYU team is still figuring out where to line up, so execution and discipline are not their fortay.
