Additionally, Francis Bernard said on Sorts Beat that the main difference between Kalani's practices and Whittingham is that they work MUCH harder at the U.

It's obviously a balancing act of trying to practice without injury but with enough intensity to get better. I don't think we've found that balance yet and taking an extra weekend off isn't good.

Brings to mind those stories of Urban Meyer locking the players inside the field house by chaining the doors. Or Whittingham sleeping in his office.

When was the last time we saw that kind of all-business intensity at BYU?

It's a big reason why BYU comes out, plays sloppy, and loses games.

Well, you know, after such an intense first game and our players putting it all out on the field, they deserve 2 days off. None of them need coaching, they all know the system. I'm so glad we have such good coaches, my confidence in our ability to compete hasn't changed at all...….. :gross: :bug:

Our coaches are horrible. They should all be assistants elsewhere.

Key word is **practice**.

They took Friday and Saturday off from PRACTICE (which is what almost every school in the nation does after a Thursday game)

They still had film sessions, workouts, and team and group meetings (with the offense or defense and their position groups).

Get a grip guys, seriously.

I'm more concerned about the easy practices over the fall and course of the year than the 2 extra days off.

Nah. He did this all the time in december before the bowl game, remember?

But then, he was usually winning 9+ games a year.

Players were asked at the end of fall camp if hiking the Y was easier or harder than football practice and they said hiking the Y was harder.

I don't know if you've ever hiked the Y, but it's not that hard if you're in relatively decent health. Children do it every day.

Remember in Fall camp of 2016 when the defensive players were working themselves harder during practice just to keep up the intensity? When you don't have guys that are willing to do that without the coaches, then everyone is working less.

Remember when the players used to race to the Y at the beginning of camp? Remember when there was a HC that demanded something of the players?
