Boise State vs Florida State

Boise State beat Florida State at their stadium. I'm not particularly a Boise fan but I always like the schools in our area to beating those out of the area and especially the big shot schools that have more money.

I wish our program was as well run as Boise State. They've repeatedly won against P5 teams.

We've won repeated games against P5 teams. Just last year we beat Wisconsin. Four years ago we beat Michigan St and Arizona.



But yes, I would appreciate a coaching staff as good as Boise's. I do think parts of our staff are good to very good to excellent. I would include Grimes, Mateo, Seward, and Gilford of those coaches who will/would quickly be hired as assistants at better programs.



But many on our staff just aren't up to their current positions. Sitake, Roderick, Tuiaki, Clark,

Since 2006, Boise State has ten 10+ winning seasons, including two undefeated. They have a winning record vs P5 teams over that time period. And are 4-2 vs BYU and 2-0 vs Utah.



Since 2006, BYU has five 10+ winning seasons but hasn't gone undefeated. We have a losing record vs P5 teams over that time period. Are 2-4 vs Boise State and 3-9 vs Utah.



Just saying.

I'm well aware, but that's a secondary argument and not related to the one you made about Boise repeatedly beating P5 schools. It's something BYU has done as well.



Boise is the better program and has been for at least a decade.

Grimes is the best Oline coach we have had since Roger French retired but, IMO, he has not been a good Ocoordinator. His offense has not averaged 30pts per game and has fell on its face whenever we have played a defense with a pulse. I was excited by his hire hoping that our Oline would be shaped up, and it has been better, but the rest of the offense has not improved and has retracted from what it was under Robert Anae.

Would they? Anae's cavs put up 30 on Pitt last weekend. I wouldn't mind scoring 30 points on teams again.

BYU scored 30+ points 4 times last year.

Mcneese state, Hawaii, NMSU and Umass.

Yeah but go back in time and read the posts on here from when Anae was OC and fans HATED him. Even several years after he was gone it seemed that many fans were in denial about how good an OC he was. I believe the word VANILLA was used to constantly describe his offense. I'm just saying many Cougar fans here and elsewhere did not love Anae one bit.

I want Anae back even less than I want Bronco back. Let them both stay in Virginia. Just because Sitake sucks, doesn't mean we need to go back to them. To be successful as an independent, especially the way Holmoe schedules, we need to do better than any of them as HC. I'd take Bronco as DC but that's it.

I would welcome Anae back with open arms, as HC or Ocoordinator at this point as long as this coaching staff were gone. Having said that, Anae isn't coming back in any capacity. BYU burned that bridge.

Then we were going to be a Matt Canada multiple-motion offense. That didn't last through his first Fall camp.



We were going to be a jet- and fly-sweep team to create space. That died out.

Based on our first game I think our current philosophy is "Throw the ball to the largest grouping of players on the field and hope for the best."
