EM_PumaI'm curious on how others feel about the rivalry game being the 1st game of the season. Logically, for two teams not in the same conference, it makes sense to me. If I were Puketah, I wouldn't want any scenario like last year where you are focused at that time of the season on a conference championship and 1st having to face your bitter rival.
My only negative feeling is that it's been out there all summer long and that's a long time to think about playing a team that has defeated you the last 8 times. Not because they were always the better team, but the more prepared team that didn't seem to choke so easily.
Best way of explaining how I feel though is like if I were a kid and I'd done something that "possibly" could bring me an opportunity to "dance" with the wooden paddle my parents or teachers/principals had. I grew up in the era of not sparing the rod. Baring only one instance that I can ever remember, all physical punishment usually came upon me the moment of discovery by some adult of something I had done that they felt merited a strike to my natural sitting cushion. There was usually not any time to ponder the punishment. Having lost to Puketah 8 times in a row and now seeing them with one of the better teams they've had since they joined the PAC12, I feel like I've been caught doing something that is more on the gray area of wrong and I have to wait until "daddy gets home" to find out if he's of the mood to "lay on the lumber" or just let me off with a warning. I don't like this feeling whatsoever.
