Intersting Article on New NCAA Recruiting Rule

In the article, Maisel points out that the new recruiting rule limits a school to 28 new recruits a year maximum. When they enroll does not matter now. Basically, this limits the ability of schools to gray shirt kids, or go after recruits you know will not qualify and could have an impact on BYU with kids who sign then go right on a mission. Obviously, 28 in a year is a lot, and Bronco just barely bumped up against this. The 85 scholarship rule is still unchanged.

This will be interesting to see if returned missionaries will count against this 28 number.

For one, the NCAA does not designate to which season January enrollees are assigned [they can be counted against that year OR against the year prior].
