Four-star point guard Alex Barcello

CougarBoard is noting that four-star point guard Alex Barcello from Mesa is transferring from U of Arizona to BYU.



I'm trying to find someone more substantive to verify that this is true. Anyone?



Having been the #83 best rated player the year he came out, in 2 years at AZ he hasn't really broken out. Still, I'd be happy to have him. He's a true PG.

While he can't play this year as an immediate replacement, this was excellent use of the scholarship freed up by Emery's departure.



Probable upgrade after he redshirts this season.

He'll have a hard time getting past Jesse Wade.

I hope that is true. That Jesse will be that good. That would be great if really good players have competition to get on the floor.

I see this only as a good thing. Wade doesn't pan out, maybe Barcello will. If they both turn out to be good, play them both. You can get away with that in the WCC.
