ESPN has a decent article on recruiting and late de-commits. Seems many schools had some and coaches were not happy with it. But it is the reality.

Poor kid doesn't have a chance. He's not going to ever learn how to work because he's already got a scholarship. Dumb idea.

There's absolutely no way USC honors that commitment unless the kid is top 5 QBs of his senior year class.

The fact USC has already offered him guarantees he will be a top 5. Such is the recruiting process. It is lame that way.

These coaches are hypocritical. They compare players who change a verbal commitment to coaches breaking a signed contract. A better comparison would be a scholarship athlete leaving after a year or two and playing for another team, except even then the player has to sit out, but the coach who leaves gets to keep collecting a paycheck. I don't think it works to compare the contracts/comittments of players vs. coaches, there is no way to equalize them.

I have sent in some recruiting tapes of my nephew to Bronco. He is a great kid, hard worker and his athletic ability is off the charts. I did attach a note promising that he will be potty trained by the time he enrolls at BYU in 2026.

Didn't Kiffin do the same thing at Tennessee offering a jr. high QB a scholarship? But I thought that kid was 15 at least.

Bingo! This is soooo ridiculous - it is off the charts!!!! This needs to come under the heading - "Ripley's Believe it or Not!!!" Yes they can spot talent. But - what they cannot predict is - will he continue his development ahead of the rest of the QB's in the Nation. And - at least 3-6 QB's will catch & surpass him as they develop and mature. Kiffin has to get an award for being just plain assenine!!! Way to go Kiffin & USC. What a horses ass!!!!
