Is lamb a good coach?

This article is old but it is his recruiting philosophy. Is he picking up kids that are developing into stars? I realize it takes a few years to go from 0 stars to starter. How long has he been here?

I'd rather start from 3 stars and build from there.

Isn't he credited for part of the defensive improvement this past year? After last year, I'm willing to reserve judgment on how bad our defensive coaches are. They're not perfect yet, but seem to be moving in the right direction at an acceptable pace.
