... as their defensive coordinator. Was at Texas Tech as cornerbacks coach but had just accepted the same position with Memphis last week before getting this offer with ECU. The BYU influence really is spreading these days.

He was a decent recruiter during his coaching days at BYU but Hill has obviously proven to be a way better coach. Good for him and good for the influence of BYU. It really seems like there are few if any schools who have a more widespread touch on coaches resumes throughout college and the NFL than BYU.

Ruffin McNeil got the ECU job, and he was the D Coordinator at Tech for Leach, where Mitchell just got fired from, so it seems like a natural fit. Those guys have been together for years. McNeill was with Leach for years at Tech and sounds like a loyal guy. I hope they both do well at ECU.
