The MWC tries to please the other 8 teams even to the point of ignoring star play to share the POW awards...they aint doggin' us this week.

Don't forget that MWC media votes on these and they step over themselves to not put BYU players in. SDSU's Leonard will get Freshman of the year because some kind of argument could be articulated as to why he should win it. Emery will get screwed out of defensive POTY, too.

Okay, I was going to create a separate thread on this, but I'll just mention it here. Was it just me or did Joe whatever-his-name-is Mtn announcer have the biggest man-crush on SDSU's Kawhi Leonard. Every time they put the camera on Kawhi you'd hear Joe say something like, "Wow, would you look at him," or my personal favorite, "Just look at those shoulders. Such nice broad shoulders. What a fine physical specimen." If I wasn't watching a basketball game I would have thought Joe was either picking out an online date or bidding on a horse at the rodeo.



Comparing Kawhi and Tyler's averages:



Kawhi -

11.4 pts; 9.4 reb; 1.9 ast



Tyler -

12.2 pts; 4.7 reb; 1.5 ast



Kawhi is killing Tyler on the boards. Points and assists for the two are pretty comparable. Didn't look, but Tyler's shooting percentage is probably better and he is probably a more efficient player than Kawhi, but almost 5 more rebounds a game a successful argument could be made for Kawhi. Course, Tyler is a guard/small forward and Kawhi is a forward, so of course Kawhi would have more boards just because of the position he plays. But, since Tyler is considered a guard he should be killing Kawhi on the assists, which Tyler isn't.

Ya I got too excited there, I almost threw Heaps in too.

I didn't know that BYU was already at 20 wins...and they were the first NCAA team to do that this year? Someone needs to start a thread on that. :P

Tyler is a shooting guard. They get, maybe as many assists as a small forward if they are doing it right. Tyler is definitely doing it right.
