Hall and Pitta are tearing it up! Pitta has looked good all game but Hall just shredded the D on a 4th quarter drive to take the lead. Way to represent cougs!

I like that they are wearing the throwback blue helmets---definite harbinger of victory.



Also, Pitta had a sweet completion on 3rd and 5 at the beginning of the third quarter. Rumbled for about 30 yards, and then lowered his head into the safety coming in for the tackle---safety got flagged for 15 yards helmet-to-helmet even though Pitta was the one initiating contact. After 3rd and 5 from inside their own 10, West gets a first down at the East's 45 yard line.



Glad Hall got in there for some redemption--his first half work was far from impressive. He just needed some time to steam on the sidelines I guess.

McShay had huge praise for Pitta but dissed on Hall a bit.

Hate that the East won, the West had no defense, I still can't figure out how the East only managed 13 against such a lousy effort.

Good game. Who is invited to the shrine game anyway, I noticed that most of the first round projections missing. I'm sure they don't want to risk injury. But generally who plays in this game?



Also, I thought that HAll was the best QB of the bunch. Maybe I'm just biased though.

It's generally the players who are marginal draft candidates--the ones with the most to gain from additional exposure to scouts and the ones who have the "system" label. It gives the system guys a chance to show they can learn and perform in an NFL type system. It was the senior games where guys like Harrell and Brennan plummeted when scouts realized they couldn't learn to play under center, and it was also where guys like Flacco shot up the boards when the scouts realized their upside and learning curve.

Missed the 2nd half, but it sucks Max got picked off during the 1st half, did he thrown a TD ? or did they run it for a TD ?

It took him all of three passes (one to a tight end, one to his brother-in-law tight end, and one to a fullback) to drive the entire length of the field and score in the fourth quarter.
