Interestingly enough, in these articles it also references how Dennis Pitta needs to demonstrate improved speed to improve his draft chances. You never can tell how accurate these reports and prognoses are...John Walsh in the first round, anyone?



I am hoping that Max, Dennis, and Jan get an opportunity.

Ditto on all 3 BYU men. I'm a big fan on all - especially Jan. I know he got his props @ the Y & in the MWC. I hope he is not overlooked for the NFL draft. I think he will be effective.

What's funny is that Pitta has one of the fastest forty times of any TE. So why single him out as someone who needs to prove his speed?

Max will be great in a timing based, West Coast style offense. he is undersized with a less strong arm. So was Montana, and so is Brees. The team he goes to needs to run that type of offense for him to really thrive. But I expect max to make a team, even if on the taxi squad. And Pitta will make a team for sure. Not so sure about Jan, though. A bit undersized.

Pitta or George would be great at somewhere like Indy where they use their tight ends like we do at BYU.

Maybe A Collie can put in the good word.

Indy seems to have someone they like pretty well in that position, a certain#44.i'd like to see Pitta or George in that system,but doubt they'll get a look there as long as Clark's as productive as he is.i'd like to see Pitta playing with someone like Peyton's little brother,or Drew Brees or Phillip Rivers.they would bring an explosiveness to those offenses which they need[although Shockey's gonna be pretty tough to displace in NO and is probably a more physical blocker when he wants to be than either DP or AG] and they're craftsmen in the passing game, sorta like Peyton.

Clark's first year was 2003 so he'll be entering his 8th year. The Colts could be looking at DP or AG for a future replacement. You might be able to get one of them (say AG) in a later round (6th or 7th) and then groom them for a year or two.

Not to mention just adding some depth as Clark has been wearing over the course of each of the last two seasons. I think either would be an upgrade over rookie Colin Clogherty who the Colts picked up in November after the Browns cut him from the practice squad....not to mention Pitta or George would already have an advantage at the position since CC is a FB the Colts are trying out at TE.

Isn't that what the Colts did with Clark? They brought him in while Pollard was still playing well and then he slowly took over for him.

Because he's white. It's the same reason that Hansbrough was always a "great leader" but never a "great athlete" and vice versa for Durrant.

Every team you named has a pro-bowl caliber tight end already (Boss, Shockey, Gates); I honestly think we'll be surprised where Pitta ends up... maybe somewhere like Kansas City, Seattle, Green Bay

I expect to see Pitta land with a passing team, and probably with a west coast type of offense. If Pitta ends up with a run first AFC team, I will be surprised. As to George, he could land anywhere.

I think Pitta is likely to go where Austin Collie went last year, around the fourth or fifth round. He's got to go to a team that utilizes the tight end as a receiver, not as a sixth offensive lineman. I'm sure Hall will throw his brother-in-law's way plenty on Saturday.
