"Picking the top quarterbacks for this class was a bit more of a challenge. In recent seasons there have been No. 1 players like Mark Sanchez ('05), Matthew Stafford ('06), Jimmy Clausen ('07), Terrelle Pryor ('08) and Matt Barkley ('09). This class does not include players that scream 2013 1st round draft pick, but we fully expect Jake Heaps of Issaquah, Wash. to throw for a million yards at BYU. Heaps is nearly flawless in his fundamentals and accuracy. Phillip Sims (Alabama), Paul Jones (Penn State), Blake Bell (Oklahoma) and Devin Gardner (Michigan) join Heaps as 5-Stars on Scout." http://recruiting.scout.com/2/939051.html

A long time on Scout.com. Never has been one on Rivals.com. Rivals has no QB's rated as 5-stars. They did just put Heaps as the #1 QB in this class, though. I am sure the Army game and that week of practice had much to do with it.

I love how they include Pryor in the list that "screams... 1st round draft pick". I would think that they would have realized by now that they missed on that one. He may be an incredible athlete but I don't think he has demonstrated yet that he can make the throws the NFL will require.

As for Heaps, the nearly all the scout guys who have covered all those guys have said that Heaps is the most polished passer to ever come out of high school. So what makes him any less of a 1st rounder than the others? Oh right, he's an inch shorter than either Clausen or Barkely (but weighs 10 lbs more than Clausen/20 lbs less than Barkley out of high school. Sure, now I see. :skeptic:

Don't forget about the LOI was sent to BYU and not USC or ND - even though Heaps had offers from both. Because he didn't choose them he is clearly a lesser QB because of it.
