RB Riley Burt considering grad transfer?

It's not for sure, but Burt has struggled for playing time through all 3 coaching staffs he played for at BYU. A tweet a while back after his good showing in the bowl game indicated he puts up much better numbers against G5/FCS competition but against P5 teams he really struggled. Early in his career coaches noticed he had vision issues and lasic surgery was supposed to help--but he still struggles to run between the tackles years later. This is certainly a position that won't be settled as early as we'd all like.

He seemed to get better the second half of the bowl game. He needs to go to spring practice where there is not a lot of competition and try to establish himself as the guy. If he can't do that then transfer but it would not be better where he goes.

That is bold because he isn't one of Kalani's recruits.

I think the writing is on the wall for all non Sitake recruits. I wouldn't be surprised to see other transfers as well.

Well, the non-Sitake recruits who are graduating in April and have struggled with their on-field performance. ;)

Talked to an immediate family member of Riley's -- said that this was the plan for more than a year once it became apparent he wasn't getting a shot.



They're all surprised Beau Hoge is even still in Provo with how he has been shrifted by the coaches for what his dad said.

From Mantua--went to Box Elder High.

I wish him well. He seemed like a good kid and a serviceable RB. It hurts to lose him. Not blaming him or the coaches--we have no idea what's happened. I'm glad for him that he got his BYU degree. Hoping USU continues to do well in all games but one.
