Jamora to Washington

This confirms to me that shiloah convinced him that byu was not the place for him.

We seem to really be fighitng with recruits with UW. Their program is likely on the rise. Can't wait for when we play them next year.

Seems like we'll always be recruiting against one PAC10 team or another, so Washington is the current somewhat BYU flavor of the month with the Sark connection.

I haven't seen too many young men come to BYU and be unhappy. I think Jamora would have been fine, but for some reason he changed his mind as he felt he was pressured by his HS coaches into the early commit, so I'd much rather have some young mand make a decision before LOI day and change his mind then. Those are the ones that hurt more.

I think Washington is going to be on the upswing.

I wonder about this "pressure" he is talking about. I spoke with players and their parents last year before Jamoura was on anyone's radar and they said he was really high on BYU and hoped to play there someday. So you've got me as to why the sudden change and also why he claimed it was just to make his coaches happy. BYU looked at him before he had a name or reputation and went mostly on the word of his coaches that he would be a great fit. Go figure. I need to ask some friends back there what happened.

Shiloah: Here's a beer, I don't like to drink alone and Manti isn't here

Jamora: thanks

Shiloah: Don't go to BYU, they dont' like beer drinkers

Jamora: ok

Honestly, with all the good feelings at the Y right now with the team and incoming class; we really dont' need guys that don't want to be here.

Let the team cancers go to UW

To me - the Huskies have always been a blank page - I have no feelings on the subject. I just want to beat them when we play them & get our recruits. Otherwise, I could care less. Now .... game on!!!!! Crush the little dogggies when they roll into town!!!

I dont think it was Shiloah telling him why not to go to BYU. I think it was more that Jamora could see the writing on the wall. He is going there with his teammate Kona, and BYU only uses two DE. That only leaves one DE position left, because he knows that he is not good enough to beat out Kona.

I see no wrong doing. Te'o was a goner as is, so was fair game. Jamora maybe wanted to play with his cousin. I'd guess that Jamora got Te'o to Washington more than the other way around. And I do not blame Sark for going after Jamora. Sounds like he was not wanting to play at BYU as is. His loss.

Don't know if I'm remembering this right, but I thought it was a DUI.

That is right. It is a shame, he would be our starting safety this year. He might hold hard feelings to BYU but he can only blame himself.

It was not only a DUI, but dishonesty. Didn't help that he drank during the whole recruiting trip fiasco.

Good point. He may have simply been disciplined for the DUI, but because he lied to Bronco about it, they let him go.

I think it was his second offense. He allegedly drank on the infamous Manti Te'o recruit trip, and then later got a DUI, covered it up with an assist from some other guys, then lied when confronted. My guess is, he knew he was gone. I think Bronco gives guys 2nd chances--as he should. But if they blow that, they walk. That seems fair to me. If Te'o harbors a grudge, it is unfortunate. But again, if he is close with jamora, I do not blame him for trying to recruit his cousin to a place where they can play, and possible room, together.

I thought if Te'o had enrolled at UW it would be a recruiting violation for him to contact any potential recruits (for the purpose of recruiting them to the school, not just to chat with your cousin). I believe Bronco mentioned that Heaps can no longer recruit for us now that he has signed. Also I thought I heard something about Zac Collie not being able to really do much to help recruit Austin to BYU as a result of this rule. Otherwise the coaches would be hauling their star plays with them on recruiting visits.
