New poster, worried about this coaching staff

New poster here. First off, I'm so excited that I found this page! I used to use cougarboard, but man I want to punch those moderators in the face.

Anyway, last week I left on a flight Monday morning for LA. Fesi Sitake was on the flight. I was surprised to learn that he was taking the week off (along with other coaches). Kind of surprising that with how this season is going, they weren't sticking around and working on the team (of course I didn't say that to him).

Seemed like a nice enough guy, but when i pressed him about the team, he said he just needed to get away and was excited for this week off. Needless to say, I wasn't quite so surprised to see the team play so poorly against NIU.

FWIW someone telling a complete stranger in an airport that they are "just taking a week off" is a good dodge to keep whoever he is recruiting a secret. Maybe he was taking a week off, maybe he wasn't. But I am less concerned about this conversation that I am about the results we saw on the field this week.



It's no secret that the coaches are all on the hot seat. I would be surprised if they didn't spend a good portion of the bye week working on Utah and Boise State. The coaches know that if they win those two games they are certain to have a job here next year. If they lose either (or both) then the holidays become much more scary

Probably a secretive recruiting trip. That said, I would not be surprised to hear that it was an actual week off, considering how the team is performing (looking at it both ways).

Imagine going on a recruiting trip, pumping BYU, and then laying that egg on Saturday. Pitiful.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kalani once again took it easy after the Hawaii win, seeing how this team is 1-6 in games after wins ther past 2 seasons.



Uh... 7 wins the past two seasons? Yep. Ugh.
