Hire him. He's an upgrade and we'd be stupid to not take it. Need to pull the trigger before he gets a job elsewhere.

FWIW The only way I "definitely" want to see Sitake around next year is if BYU wins out. If BYU loses one game then it becomes a very very very difficult question for me. Losing 2 games the rest of the year would be unacceptable and should result in termination, if not HC, then at least the DC.

Not sure if ya'll have seen this recent story on Mike Leach about an escapade from decades past, but that guy is one clever, funny, dippin, non-recommend-totin SOB.



His offense would be a lot of fun to have at BYU, but there's ZERO chance he comes here. Besides, I think Grimes is coming along nicely.

I want the defensive staff gone no matter what after this year. I want the HC gone if I don't see some consistency out of the team for the rest of the year and since I am pretty sure they are going to be wildly inconsistent like we have seen all year, I am pretty sure I will want the HC gone after the year. I am sick of the rollercoaster ride.

If BYU is only paying it's football HC $1.5 million, then they really are kidding themselves and the joke is on us. Have the powers that be at BYU ever heard the saying, "You get what you pay for?"



Looking at the chart below, $1.5 million would put BYU at about #74 out of 130 schools. Or about the 57% percentile. Right between schools like Tulsa and North Texas, as well as below other schools like Central Florida, Boise State, Tulane, and Fresno State. (Ignore the figure for Cal, as their coach's salary is higher now.) Houston is $1.75 million. Colorado State is $1.8 million. And the HC of our arch rival makes over twice the the $1.5 million figure.



Heck, no wonder we have the coaching staff we do. The pay ceiling of your HC is obviously going to effect those of any coordinators he brings in too. Meanwhile, we have an AD with delusions of being able to compete at the P5 level on a G5 budget.



BYU has only a few options...



1. Increase pay for better coaches and coordinators to help compete at P5 level.



2. Pray for a relatively unknown Urban Meyer- coming-from-Bowling-Green type coach.



3. Start scheduling at the level it's willing to pay, i.e. a glorified G5.
