Has Poly Nation Failed KS?

When KS got hired, the Polys were excited about it and expressed their support for him. We signed some poly recruits but did not get the 4 and 5 stars kids. If he did, would things be different?

Every single player has gotten worse under the Kalani regime.

I see what you're saying, but No; I don't think so. I don't expect a talented Polynesian coach to come BYU just because he's Polynesian any more than I expect an LDS kid to come to BYU just because he's LDS. That's almost the definition of stereotyping (positive or negative). A kids should do what is best for them. BYU offers some unique opportunities. Having a Polynesian coach offers some unique opportunities. But both of those are just on epart of a multifaceted decision. The biggest part--the part that Kalani has full control over (he didn't have control over his heritage)--is his performance as a coach. There's not a lot to recommend on that score so far.



Besides, similar to what Hawk said, the players BYU does have should be able to put together a better performance. Adding more talent where talent isn't the problem isn't going to overcome 5 touchdown deficits.
