Brace yourself BYU fans, more sanctions are coming...

Maybe?

The Salt Lake Tribune says more NCAA sanctions are coming, related to the Nick Emery case. Should know more by early November.

They don't know Jack.

Turns out that Nick Emery received a Jetta, Universal Studios tickets AND socks. The Trib found the socks.

The trib is hardly a reliable source on this subject. I'm sure they're also preparing their editorial right now denouncing the NCAA for not coming down harder on BYUm and they'll run it if nothing happens or if whatever sanctions come are light.

I don't know that we can dismiss the Trib out of hand on this. They were the ones who broke the story about Nick Emery receiving the improper benefits in the first place, which most BYU fans laughed off or tried to discredit, but it turned out they were right. I guess we'll see.

Utes will probably scream bloody murder, but I don't think whatever the NCAA hands down will be very much. A few years ago they did hand St. Mary's a pretty heavy penalty as far as those go but it didn't seem to hurt them on the court much if at all. Their infraction was something the NCAA generally considers far more serious which was how they were totally ignoring the rules in regard to international recruiting.

St. Mary's was doing things that affected the entire team and were set by the coaching staff, not one player being stupid.
