jvquarterbackWell, I guess I should have chosen the Wisconsin game for my second game of the season but my sister moved from Madison to Seattle so there you go.
Washington fans were great before the game - and fine during it. I'm sure it helped that I had my 4 year old there for his first game. Stadium was so so. Cosmo disappeared for the 4th quarter which was lame. We moved down that way after the third just to meet him and at least we got to see the team score a touchdown against the 3rd team defense.
The offense looked pretty good in the first quarter and I thought it would be a close game - that drive with 5 penalties was actually amazing, I wish Bushman had cut back into the field. The rest of the game not so much. The defense was poor at every level - DL, LB, DB. Washington just had better or equal players at each level. I'm sure Pulsipher, Powell, and Sandlin are great guys but they don't really belong on the same field as UW, particularly when they're playing in a base 4-3 that isn't putting any pressure on the QB. Next year LB is really going to be a problem.
My boy had a great time and was really excited when he finally got to sing the fight song we had been practicing. Totally bummed about Cosmo though. And it doesn't look as though we'll be able to make it to Provo for the NM St game. Still hoping for the SF bowl so I can make it to one more game this year.
