Do we make 25 with a win?

If we can hold on here and beat Wisconsin by any score (24-21, 27-21, 31-21, 31-28, etc.), do we jump into the top 25 at all? Or do we only get votes that give us some attention?



On a similar (yet side) note, how far would Wisconsin fall with a loss today?

No ... it will be perceived as a fluke. Will get votes. Wisconsin would drop to below 15

This is among the worst upsets in the history of ranked football. I looked it up afterwards. Once or twice before, an unranked team beat a top-5 or so opponent.



However, this win is *sweet* because we snapped a 41-game home non-conference win streak, which stretched back to WWII.

The question is...



Did the loss last week lead to the upset over Wisconsin? Did we come in with a chip on our shoulder and played with something to prove?

Win against Wisc doesn't completely erase the loss to Cal.



If losing to Cal gave us the extra motivation to beat Wisc, I'll take that trade.

We will have about the same chance as we had beating a ^6 ranked team at their place.

We will have to win the next two games to break the top 25.

If we had won last week, we would be there.

sounds about right. Cal win and we'd be about 21 or so I believe.

I'm happy to be wrong here. This is our first time to be ranked since 2015. I'll take it.



It will take two more wins to be in the top 25 in both polls. An unimpressive win against McNeese State may also cost us our AP top 25 ranking.



I think McNeese State will actually be a good barometer of where this program is really at. If we blow the doors off, than I will start to be much more of a believer in this team as a whole. If we look underprepared, sloppy, and the game ends up being close, well....

We actually have an opportunity to move up a little in the polls in Week 4, even with facing FCS McNeese St.



#22 Texas A&M plays at #1 Alabama

#20 Oregon hosts #7 Stanford



Solid wins by Alabama and Stanford could allow us to inch a couple of spots up the rankings.



We need solid wins by Wisconsin and Washington this week.



Also, I note that Cal has a BYE this week before hosting Oregon. Could be a good chance for Cal after their BYE week and Oregon's big game with Stanford. Then, Cal has a seemingly manageable run against Arizona, UCLA, and Oregon St. If California is for-real, they could be 7-0 and ranked before a big show down with Washington at the end of October.



I love that #25 BYU's game will again be included in "Top 25" online schedules and score-trackers and on the tickers at the bottom of the screen during most televised games!

I love that the game will be on Saturday at 4pm as well--don't have to stay up until the wee hours of the morning this time!
