I think it's funny that they are proud of a 2-0 record considering it's wyo and AF. I'm not bragging about Y's record-although unlv is a big win-until after we've beat unm, sdsu, utah (not because they are good) and another road game or two.

I get bugged by little things, I guess. BYU destroys CSU, is 18-1, and who does USA Today give all their space to? Utah beating UNLV, SDSU beating TCU (big whup), USU killing BOise (big whup), and Weber State.



There aren't many 18-1 teams in this country, you'd think they could at least write up their story, it's certainly a bigger story than SDSU beating TCU!

You can criticize BYU's "weak" schedule all you want, but they just destroy everybody they play. They aren't winning by 1 or 2, but by 30 or 40.



Any team can stink it up on a given night, it happens sometimes, but I don't see anybody in this league than can play with BYU. With Jimmer back, Emery healthy, Tavernari playing well, Haws playing great, and Davies coming on; these guys are really, really good...and they're young.



I watched North Carolina earlier this week, they were awful, just awful--and they're an elite program. BYU would beat UNC if they played them right now. And UNLV was supposed to be the super talented, favorite this year; they are ok, but I don't see them beating BYU this year...or next. There are several pretty good teams in the MWC this year, but BYU is the only really good team in the league. Utah is hot and cold. UNM struggles with everybody now, so not sure how good they are. UNLV loses at home to a mediocre Utah team, and SDSU loses and struggles against everybody too.

THis BYU team is something else. Like you mentioned they win big. Hollingner's NBA power rankings are based largely on how badly you are beating opponents. It might not relate completely but I wonder how BYU would look if you plugged their stats into his equations.

Don't forget that BYU has played nearly half their games away from the Marriott Center. BYU has played nine of 19 games away from Provo. BYU is 8-1 in those games. BYU has played eight true road games.

People can talk all they want about how weak our schedule is. But we've played more road games and more games away from home than any team ranked in front of us. We've played three more true road games than anyone. BYU is proving to be an excellent team.



I don't know if rankings come out tomorrow because the holiday but when they do, BYU will move ahead of Connecticut, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Georgetown. BYU will be at least 14 and I could see them moving up to 12 or 13. If we go 2-0 this week, I bet we're in the top 10 by the end of January.
