More Props for BYU

So today was the first ever episode of "The Bracket" on ESPN - not really all that great, but in one segment, called "Show Me Some Love", Andy Katz gave some props to BYU.



He and another analyst (not sure of his name) each had to pick three lesser known teams to "spread the love to" or "spread the awareness about". Katz picked BYU as one of his three and mentioned the following:



1. How yes, they were getting love and were ranked (which was only true of BYU out of the six teams chosen), but that they actually weren't getting ENOUGH love and needed more (music to my ears).

2. How Dave Rose was a cancer survivor and was a top five coach in the country

3. How Jimmer Fredette was great and scored 49 in a 30 point win at Arizona, and that he was now "coming back" from mono.

4. How Tyler Haws is only a freshman and still dropped 20 at UTEP

5. How BYU has only one loss and it was at Utah State, a rival.

6. How we were the likely MWC champs.



In case you're curious, his other two picks were Northern Iowa and Mizzou. The other analyst picked St. Mary's, Virginia, and William and Mary.



Anyway, nothing spectacular, but I still love it. Go Cougars :evil:

Joe Lunardi has BYU as a tourney lock as long as they "hold serve" and don't lose any games they shouldn't. To me, that means no losses to like CSU, AF, Utah, TCU or Wyoming. And a road loss to New Mexico, UNLV and SDSU won't hurt our NCAA chances.

St. Mary's...never heard of them. :roll:

Are you serious? they beat SDSU at the start of the season and are in the same conference with Gonzaga.
