Decided to make a general post to start collecting these in. There were several threads on individual players missing or whatever. This includes Jay Drew's latest:

Trey Dye - medical retirement/student coach

Rickey Shumway - walk-on receiver from Timpview High, finished playing football but still enrolled in school.

Joe Tukuafu - "no longer in the program"

Ula Tolutau - "no longer in the program"

Jeremiah Ieremia - LB, a returned missionary who participated in spring camp, has decided to transfer.

Several other players who participated in spring camp are not on the printed roster for preseason camp but are still on the online roster and still considered part of the program. They are not currently participating in preseason camp for various reasons.

That list includes returned missionary linebacker Hirkley Latu, tight end Nate Heaps, running back KJ Hall, long snapper Matt Foley, running back Kavika Fonua, defensive lineman Tevita Mo’unga, DL Langi Tuifua and linebacker Morgan Unga.

DL Langi Tuifua - showed promise as a pass rusher, is battling an issue with his lower back and may be forced to sit out this season.

Three high school recruits who signed last February but were not mission-bound — running back Amone Finau, defensive lineman Chinonso Opara and linebacker Alex Miskela — are not currently with the team but could be in the future, the spokesperson said.

Update on Tolutau from Dick Harmon:

Dick Harmon wrote:
Interesting chat at BBQ Sunday in my backyard with a relative of Ula Tolutau. The former BYU running back is studying at UVU and working on returning to the Cougar squad. He will need to do some A,B, and C things the university has asked of him in order to return and it will likely take him until next spring or summer. He was line dancing in Wyoming on Saturday and attended a baby blessing in Utah on Sunday. His return is a work in progress.

I really can't remember a time when it seems as though there is so much negative roster issues. Maybe it's just because there have been a few more than usual, but it just seems like this whole off-season and now including fall camp, there continues to be new of people not making it to BYU or asking for release.

So far though, we have seen very few major injuries and hopefully it continues. We've had quite a stretch as a fan base of a storied program.

LoyalCougars updated to show that LB Morgan Unga's injury is now career ending. And that LB Sam Baldwin (walk on) is no longer with the program.

DL Chinoso Opara reportedly could not get through the admissions process (TOEFL) and is now on the roster at Weber State.

LB Jeremiah Ieremia is listed on the roster at Snow College.
