2018 Position Group Rankings

Like the receivers, until we see results, the OL is the worst position group. These guys, like the recievers, should have been one of the first 2 groups chosen.

It's interesting that the votes have been so evenly spread. That really speaks to the total train wreck of last season. There is literally NOTHING to build on. Maybe the tight ends with Bushman, but they were lumped with the WRs and just won the shamestakes.



If we look at who has received the fewest votes of Low Confidence, that would imply that the kickers and punters are the least worrisome. Do we really feel most comfortable with the P/K unit? We don't even know who they are!! How are we going to build a team on that?



Man, I'm glad the team sounds motivated for this season, because I'm struggling.

I think everything should be tied for worst. We have no good position groups.

I think the offense will actually fare better than the defense this year. We made steps to improve the offense, hopefully it will work. We have done next to nothing to improve the worst defense BYU has fielded in decades.

The Tuiaki defense has sucked in every facet of the game, yet only minimal changes have been made on the defensive side.

BYU only held 4 teams below their average PER on offense last year. Two years ago, they held 6 of 13 teams below their PER average. So over the last 26 games only 10 teams (.385) have been held below their PER average.

This is what I don't understand. The media is 100% blaming the offense for the bad play of the defense last year. Rod Zundell on KSL flat out said on their 2018 preview that the defense would play better if the offense moved the ball better. I don't disagree that Detmer deserved to be fired, he did, his offense was horrible. the defensive staff deserved to be fired as well. Last years defense was horrible and flat out couldn't get off the field. There is a good chance that the offense will average 30 points per game this year and the defense average giving up 31.
