Not a very good showing for us. the marshal ohio miami game had better ratings. the pukes and wyoming beat us as well. Dont get it.

Easy answer. Was early in the Bowl season, and I believe was still up against original network programming, not re-runs. Later bowls had no such issues. PLus, was over by half, which hurt TV ratings overall.

That explains the marshal game but not the puke and wyomign game. wyoming game was before ours i believe and the tues game awsonly two days later wasn't it? also being over at th ehalf didn't seem to hurt the sugar bowl or holiday bowl ratings.

ouch and double ouch!

The LV bowl was played at the same time the Portland trail blazers were playing. Quite a few Oregon people may have been watching basketball. Also the game was played early on a weekday when many people were still at work on the west coast.

Silver lining: Two non-AQ schools put up better ratings in a BCS game than a big 'ol, all-powerful ACC / Big 10 BCS matchup. The good ol' boys just lost their LAST semi-legit excuse for excluding the non-AQ's (at least from an anti-trust perspective).
