Wow. BYU not re-upping scholarships for once-promising players who aren't performing?
That's refreshing if that's what this is.
I get that with him it was medical--after his back surgery (which team doctors supposedly advised against, but Dean's 'advisor/agent' pushed him to have), coaches don't think he can meaningfully contribute to the team any longer. Hard to justify an outfielder who's hitting below the Mendoza-line.
