USU got this deal to play Bama. If we need the money, we could do one for a couple million.

Isn't that essentially what the LSU neutral site game was last year?



But there isn't room for a money game on the schedule until 2021 at least (criteria being road away game with no return)--and we already plan a tough enough schedule against P5 teams--no need for the money game to help raise SOS since the conference schedule pulls that down.

Agree with Fido.

We don't need the SOS. And while more is always nice, I don't think we need the money.

Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Bama--being Bama--would have a payout inversely related to the chance that they'll lose. If so, based on last season, we should sign that contract now!



Regardless, I'll be rooting for the Aggies! Of course if USU wins, BYU will be the only Utah team without a win against the Tide.

Considering our SOS was #81 last season, I would tend not to agree, but seeing how we only turned in a 4-9 season, I agree.

Looking at future schedules I think our SOS is going to go up quite a bit.

That's what we said the last few years. We've been expecting SOS in the 30s, but after the season we realized just how bad UMass, McNeese State, USU, Hawaii, and so on drag the entire schedule down, especially when the "name" programs end up with ho-hum seasons. You can't just look at the top 4 or 5 games on the schedule to determine that SOS.



Next year's home schedule is abysmal(but could be tight games if last year's UMass game was any indication of home-field advantage going forward!)--our best games in Provo are Cal (5-7 last year) and USU. We'll be lucky if SOS breaks into the 60s.



2019 is a bad SOS schedule as well--UMass, Liberty, and Idaho State provide firm anchors to keep that SOS in the basement.

So you're saying that we scheduled a slate of competitive games?

Look at 2020 and 2021. Pretty solid.
