It appears that the fans of the #1 seeds were of the opinion that they just didn't care. Look at the attendance (of course for SMC, 36% isn't bad, but their capacity is terrible)

Louisville Cardinals had the best attendance of the day. Their crowd was very noisy once the Cardinals got control of the game in the 2nd half.



SMC barely edged USC for the worse attendance. USC's attendance, for a PAC12 team, #1 seed was atrocious. It's looked like a practice there were so few there.
