Crennel reunites with Weis, Pioli in KC



As expected, the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday officially hired Romeo Crennel to be their new defensive coordinator.



When they take the field next season, the Chiefs will have the same defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator and top front-office executive who helped lead New England to three Super Bowl titles during 2002-05.

In your opinion, what are some of the best BBQ joints in KC? I was in KC a few years ago and stopped in at Oklahoma Joe's. That was some pretty amazing stuff. Have you heard of it? How do you think it compares?

Oklahoma Joes is pretty famous since their most popular stop is out of the back of a gas station.



I personally like Arthur Bryants; it's in the middle of the hood (a block away from the famous 18th and Vine jazz district and the Negro League baseball museum), the seating and space is terrible, but the food is primo. You should never visit Kansas City and miss Arthur Bryants. They also have the best ribs; which is the true measuring stick of BBQ.

Most of the modern presidents have eaten there and it's not unusual to see a law firm office party sitting 10 feet away from 2 500 lb men in sauce covered overalls.



My 2nd fav is Gates... I love their sauce and they yell at you , "hi may I help you" and soon as you walk in. You can tell a Gates virgin when they look around trying to figure out who they're yelling at.



But yes, Oklahoma Joes is very good.



Ask Weis and Crennel after a season with the Chiefs. It's fairly apparent that they're much more experienced eaters.

I went to Gates, and wasn't too thrilled there.

i've been to Arthur Bryant's several times and when we went the first time my buddy,who was an AB officianado packed.as craigo said it's not in a pretty area,and when i went there it was a complete dive.they pull the barbecue out of what amounts to a literal 'hole in the wall',and then throw this huge amt. of absolutely,amazingly tasty barbecue on top of several pieces of white bread.it's not for the faint of heart but gives an old school taste of great KC barbecue.Gates has a whole different tangy taste to it,Haywoods is good too but a bit sweeter.interestingly the last time i went to AB i was told that they close for 2 weeks in January because the owners take the entire crew on a cruise every year,which i thought was cool.

Now I want BBQ, you're all EVIL!
