John Vaka done at BYU

Originally a commit to Oregon, he was a big time get for the program, but is no longer a part of the team and has been thoroughly scrubbed from any sort of official BYU websites.

He never did take the field after sitting out for a transfer. Makes me wonder if it was academics or something...but between him and Wilstead, that frees up 2 scholarships. By my count including the guys coming into fall camp there are 92 and must get down to 85 by the end of fall camp.

I heard them mention 3 or 4 other scholarship kids who left the program on ESPN 960 but I didn't catch the names.

LoyalCougars also lists LB Garrett England (No longer with the team after spending 2017 as a redshirt on the scout team post-mission) and FB Patrick Palau (in school but no longer with the team).

I was excited when John Vaka said he was coming our way. Too bad. BYU is a special place and we need these guys.
